Priyanka Chopra is making her comeback to Bollywood with
Shonali Bose’s The Sky Is Pink, trailer of which was dropped, a day before
today. The trailer, which stars Priyanka along with Farhan Akhtar, Zaira Wasim
and Rohit Saraf, is raving wide appreciation by one and all. But its quirky
plot has gained attention of movie buffs like never before. During a recent
conversation, The Sky Is Pink director Shonali Bose revealed what made her dive
into the direction The Sky Is Pink. She said, because she herself had dealt
with a broken marriage and the loss of his son.
During her and Priyanka’s interaction with Variety at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), she revealed that the girl Ayesha Chaudhary, on whom the film is based, had watched the trailer of Shonali’s Margarita With A Straw starring Kalki Koechlin 30 times and was wanted to watch the film. But unfortunately, Ayesha couldn’t survive till the release of the film. But when Ayesha’s parents went to watch Margarita With A Straw they realised that it was dedicated to Bose’s son, Ishaan.

Revealing the further story, Shonali said that it took
Ayesha’s parents 6 months to track the director and when they finally met her,
and Ayesha’s mother Aditi Chaudhary burst out saying, ‘I’ve lost my child and I
want only one filmmaker in the world to tell her story because I loved your
film, it was her (Ayesha's) dying wish to see your film, and you’ve lost a
child.’”
